August Garden 2014

There have been highs and lows in the garden this year.  Courgettes ballooned into mis-shaped marrows, the 'cherry' tomatoes were more like golf balls, only two plums came to fruition on my potted plum tree, the pears on my potted pear tree are covered in deep fissures and quite inedible and many of the apples on my potted apple tree have been infested with maggots!!!  Not a good year for fruit in pots!

The white echinacea plant flowered profusely this year even if it did have a poor start with caterpillars encasing themselves in the petals.

At leasr my baby belle aubergine looks to be doing fine.  Let's hope the fruits taste as good as they look.

  2. The slugs ate all the Echinacea plants I grew from seed. So I've bought an established one today. They'd better leave this one alone.
